Wedding at The Aisling in Hudson, Wisconsin

Some wedding days just feel like pure magic from start to finish, and Andrew and Elizabeth’s December wedding at The Aisling in Hudson, Wisconsin, was exactly that. December weddings in the Midwest can be a gamble when it comes to weather, but these two lucked out—the day was crisp yet mild, the kind of winter day that makes you want to soak in every second.

One of my favorite surprises from Andrew and Elizabeth’s day was where we captured their getting ready photos. Typically, I’d take these in the suites, but they had decorated the front entry so beautifully—it was bright, airy, and had the most perfect white walls that made everything feel so clean and elegant. The natural light pouring in made for some of my favorite getting ready shots of the day. We did a few photos in their rooms as well, but the front entry was truly a dream setting.

With the weather on their side, Andrew and Elizabeth opted for a first look outdoors, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. As Elizabeth walked up to Andrew, the anticipation was so real. The second he turned around, his face said it all—pure joy, love, and admiration. They shared a quiet moment together before the whirlwind of the day truly began, and it was such a special thing to witness.

One of the biggest surprises of the day was just how perfect the weather was for outdoor portraits. We took advantage of the beautiful grounds at The Aisling, capturing the two of them in soft, natural light. The golden tones of the bare trees mixed with the warm winter glow made for some of the dreamiest photos. Their wedding party braved the outdoors too, bringing all the fun energy while we captured some incredible group shots.

As the sun began to set, everyone gathered inside for the ceremony. The Aisling’s elegant indoor space set the perfect scene—warm lighting, a white interior, and a backdrop that felt intimate yet grand. Andrew and Elizabeth exchanged heartfelt vows, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. The way these two look at each other is something special, and you could feel the love radiating from them throughout the entire ceremony.

One of the biggest misconceptions about golden hour photos is that you need a ton of time to get the perfect shots—but 10 minutes is all it takes. Andrew and Elizabeth’s golden hour portraits are proof. Right after the ceremony, we rushed outside, and in just a handful of minutes, we captured everything—romantic veil shots, candid laughter, quiet moments, and that just-married glow. The warm December air meant Elizabeth didn’t even need her fur coat, letting her dress shine in the soft sunset light. The key to golden hour photos isn’t how long you have—it’s timing and trust. When the light is right and the couple is present in the moment, it doesn’t take long to create something unforgettable.

Andrew and Elizabeth’s reception was all about good energy and a packed dance floor. From the first song to the last, their guests brought the kind of energy that keeps you moving until you can’t anymore. At one point, I even handed my camera to Andrew and told him to go crazy—and he did. He ran around capturing the dance floor, especially his bride, snapping some of the most fun, candid moments of the night. Then came the moment that took the party to another level—“Best Love Song” by T-Pain started playing, and the entire room lost it. Hands in the air, people screaming the lyrics, and Andrew and Elizabeth right in the middle of it all. The night was pure, unforgettable fun.

Looking back, Andrew and Elizabeth’s wedding at The Aisling was nothing short of incredible. The weather, the venue, the people—it all came together in the most beautiful way. It was an absolute honor to capture their love story, and I have no doubt that these two have a lifetime of happiness ahead of them.

Andrew & Elizabeth—thank you for letting me be a part of your day! Wishing you both all the love and joy in the world.
